The Farmhouse

Descending the winding roads of Treiso, passing through the MGA Giacone with its meticulously cared vineyards, skirting the typical white marl lands of this area and crossing its woods, Cascina Alberta comes into view. 19 hectares of contiguous land, of which 9 are planted with vines, surround the farmhouse: vineyards of nebbiolo, barbera, and riesling frame the structure, nestled in the breathtaking view of our hills. The ancient buildings have been restored to create a small gem of hospitality and relaxation:

The property houses our wineries, from which the wines we are proud of come to life each year;

Alongside the production area, we also have our 7 Suites: a conservatively renovated space, maintaining as much as possible the original materials and spaces, while renewing them with a modern and essential taste. The 360° view enjoyed by the property allows our guests to be enchanted by our hills and their sunsets.

THE VALUE OF SUSTAINABILITY

From the very beginning of our story, it has been clear to us how the territory in which we find ourselves represents a perfect example of balance between vineyard, hills, and woods; our passion for the land of Langa has guided us in the recovery of old vineyards through sustainable viticulture: we want our vineyards to be lush gardens, which is why we respect their ecosystem by limiting human intervention, maintaining that balance that allows the vines to grow strong and flourishing. We do not use pesticides or chemical herbicides and we obtained organic certification in 2019 through the Valoritalia organization.

Our Reality

Descending the winding roads of Treiso, passing through the MGA Giacone with its artfully tended vineyards, skirting the typical white marl lands of this area and crossing its woods, Cascina Alberta comes into view.

  • The structure houses our wineries, from which the wines we are proud of come to life each year;
  • Next to the production area, we also have our 7 Suites: a conservatively renovated space, maintaining as much as possible the original materials and spaces, while renewing them with a modern and essential taste. The 360° view enjoyed by the property allows our guests to be enchanted by our hills and their sunsets.

A FEW STEPS THROUGH OUR HISTORY

2011: The company is acquired: 7 hectares of vineyard, 7 of forest, and the remaining 5 of meadow in the municipality of Treiso, within the MGA Giacone;
2012: We eliminate the use of pesticides, focusing our attention on the soil and its balance;
2013: We introduce the practice of cover cropping in our vineyards;
2014: We begin vinifying our grapes using indigenous yeasts: this means that we use the microorganisms present on the skin of our grapes, which we then select and use to ferment all the wines;
2015: We start renovation work on the farmhouse, during which we install a wood chip boiler and photovoltaic panels for a yield of 9 kW;
2016: We initiate the organic conversion of our lands;
2018: We revitalize a pre-existing well for the irrigation of flower beds and gardens around the farmhouse;
2019: We are happy to obtain organic certification through Valoritalia;
2021: We rent a new vineyard in Neive, within the MGA Serragrilli, where we immediately begin the organic conversion;
